Method: Bar & Block
- Place the installation stub to the end of the pipe bell.
- Place a block of wood horizontally at the end of the installation piece.
- With a log, push the block of wood until the pipe is fully inserted into the socket.

NOTE: This method requires the use of a pilot installation. DO NOT push directly into the pipe.
Backhoe Method
- Place the installation stub to the end of the pipe bell.
- Place a block of wood horizontally above the installation stub.
- Carefully push the backhoe bucket back into the block until the pipe is fully inserted into the bell.

NOTE: This method requires the use of a pilot installation. DO NOT push the backhoe directly to
Backhoe and Sling method
- Wrap nylon slings around the pipe. Pipes 36 “(900mm) or larger must be taken at two points with a distance of about 10 ‘(3 m).
- Hook the other end of the nylon sling to the backhoe bucket.
- The operator must push the rope carefully towards the bell of the downstream pipe until the tap is fully inserted into the bell.
- Hook the other end of the nylon sling to the backhoe bucket.
- Make sure the pipe slides right into the bell to avoid misalignment.
- Maintain pipe level.

NOTE: The distance from the sleeping pad to the plinth is not to
exceed 6 “(150mm) for 20 ‘(6m) pipes.
