Chemical and Temperature Resistance of Polyethylene Pipes for Industrial Applications

The industrial sector has traditionally used metal pipes for transporting a wide variety of chemicals and highly corrosive liquids. When metal pipes are exposed to aggressive media, their lifetime is considerably reduced. Polyethylene pipes, have demonstrated since the 1950s to be a safe, reliable and cost effective alternative for gas and water supply to pipes made of traditional materials. Polyethylene pipes bring the benefit of being easy to extrude and much lighter for standard operating conditions and therefore easier to be transported and installed.
The good chemical resistance of polyethylene to a broad range of substances opens up new applications for pipes in the industrial sector. Since chemicals are often transported at temperatures higher than 60ºC, polyethylene pipes may have reduced lifetimes than desired. Polyethylene of raised temperature resistance materials (PE-RT), which have largely been used for hot and cold water transportation, offer the desired lifetime at higher temperatures on top of the chemical resistance and are therefore the most suited material.
Shuanglin High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipe has good chemichal resistance a certain temperature, the details specification attached on https://www.shuanglinpipe.co.id/shuanglin-hdpe-pipe-resistance-to-acid-and-alkali/.
